Some of us live for many years before we learn how very precious it is to be alive. I was not one of those people.
After surviving recurrent lymphoma in my early 20s, life was never the same. Any pressure to "do what I thought I should do" fell instantly away.
Since my mid-twenties, I've been pursuing my passions and living my dreams without apology. I took a 3-month road-trip throughout Canada, the United States and Mexico. I studied literary theory and earned an MFA in creative writing. I relocated to Northern California from Washington, D.C. entirely on my own, traveling 3 days by train.
After moving to Marin County, I met my husband, got married and had a child. My creative activities (obsessions?) have never ceased, despite the demands of parenting and the disruption of life challenges. Music, writing, personal development and meditation -- and the life-giving joys I receive as I pursue my passions -- have been nourishing constants throughout my life.
I look forward to helping you crack the code to more joyful writing. And living.
